If you can get past that, and decide to embrace the goofy premise, it’s actually quite riveting. He has thought of everything, an abundance of food, clothing supply through the years, all their favorite things in their own replica underground bedroom. I really love books about people hiding out or being trapped within places like towers etc. Moral dilemmas combined with tense plot action make this a good read.

Despite the fact he’s glad to be alive; Eli has gone through the past few years like a zombie, cutting himself off from the rest of his family. The audience will feel the pressure closing in on them as they, like the characters, race through hairpin turns in the plot toward a breathless climax. The story was very original. I’m so glad there is a second book because the book makes me want to read more.
